Koch joins AA from BA

Tristan Koch has joined American Airlines Cargo division as managing director of cargo sales for Europe and the Middle East.

Koch comes from British Airways World Cargo where he served in a variety of senior positions, most recently as key global account manager. During his 11 years with BAWC, he also served as sales manager for the UK and Ireland, as alliance development manager, and as a business analyst, specialising in interline partnerships and business restructuring.

Koch will be based at Heathrow facility in London, where he will oversee the airline’s regional offices and GSA operations.

Shortley and Weber move to Damco

Damco has appointed Thomas Shortley its global head of aid and relief, and also Stefan P Weber as head of carrier management for North America.

Shortley has 18 years of international development experience, most recently, managing the business development and revenue growth strategies across peacekeeping, humanitarian, and development sectors for Agility. Prior to that, as a staff member for the United Nations, he managed disaster response and stabilisation programs in Sudan and Mozambique.

He will be charged with will driving the global strategy, lead the dedicated Aid and Relief team, and raise Damco’s profile among other Aid and Relief agencies. He will be based in Cape Town.

Stefan Weber joins Damco from Kuehne + Nagel where for the last eight years he was focused on route management and ocean freight. He previously worked for a multitude of companies and roles including Schenker, GeoLogistics and Panalpina.

In his new role, Weber will be responsible for the management and strategic direction of Damco’s North America Region’s ocean carrier management including freight procurement, ensuring commercial success in global tenders and will provide leadership to the allocation management and procurement teams across the Damco network.

Collect+ takes customer service director and national sales manager

Parcel Service Collect+ has taken on Mark Lawrence as customer service director, and also Richard Tucker joins the business as national sales manager.

Lawrence had worked in the logistics and supply chain sector for over 20 years, most recently as head of UK operations for Marks & Spencer where he was responsible for all non-food logistics in the UK, including e-commerce fulfilment and furniture home delivery as well as store replenishment. He has also worked in operations for British Airways, Glaxo SmithKline, Heinz, First Quench and Fullers Brewery.

Tucker has worked for companies such as Unipart, Oakley, WH Smith, Jessops and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen. He will continue the development of Collect+’s retail partnerships, alongside the expansion of a new relationships within 3PL, fulfilment outsourcing and multi-channel commerce.

Puzey and Hodgson promoted at Kewill

Evan Puzey has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer for Kewill’s Asian operations and is replaced as chief marketing officer by Brian Hodgson.

Puzey has 20 years of experience in the supply chain industry and has worked in more than 30 countries, across 5 continents. He has been with Kewill since 2004 in senior marketing and product management roles, most recently as chief marketing officer.

Hodgson also has 20 years experience and had successfully driven Kewill’s Americas marketing and business development function since September 2006. He will now be responsible for Kewill’s global marketing and product management function.

Geodis Calberson hires Anna Kozlowska

Geodis Calberson has hired Anna Kozlowska as marketing manager, with responsibility for raising brand awareness for Geodis Calberson and the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network.

She joins after 2½ years with the CILT where she progressed from membership services assistant to marketing assistant, taking on additional responsibility as project manager for the Humanitarian Logistics Association, which is supported by the CILT.

SFL appoints Emma Jones as chief executive

SFL, a change management consultancy which specialises in the manufacturing and distribution sectors, has appointed Emma Jones as chief executive.

Jones joined SFL in 2006. Her career began in the retail sector, working with Matalan and Asda.

She takes over from John Fay MBE, who founded SFL in 2003. Fay will continue to play an active business development role in the business.

New senior director at Zetes

Zetes has hired Steve Binder as senior director for sales and marketing.

Binder has held senior management positions within the Auto ID industry for over 20 years with previous senior management roles at LXE and Motorola.

He will be responsible for leading Zetes’ sales and marketing strategy in the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries, working together with senior vice president for Northern Europe, James Hannay.

Audley becomes chair and chief of Prolog

The chairman of Promotional Logistics, Robert Audley, has resumed the direct management of the company’s board as chairman and chief executive officer, and Darshana Bawa is now chief operating officer.

Audley became managing director in 1990, when his company Caverswall Holdings bought Prolog.

Bawa will take board responsibility for production, finance, transport and human resources. She was first promoted to the Prolog board in 1995 as finance director.

Carole Crawford becomes managing director of HFT Forklifts

HFT Forklifts has appointed Carole Crawford as managing director.

Carole was previously responsible for day-to-day operations within the family-run company. She said: “My aim is to help the business grow by strengthening links with existing customers and ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the high standards expected from us.”

Management appointments at GAC

GAC has split its former Europe, Mediterranean, Africa & Central Asia region, leading to new appointments.

Ivo Verheyen has taken over as GAC’s group vice president for Europe, based in Rotterdam.

Capt. Tom Näsman, who has served a number of roles within GAC is now managing director in Kuwait, taking over from Ronald Lichtenecker, who is now managing director in Singapore.

Capt. Abid Mukhtar Ahmed has become managing director of GAC Pakistan.

Erland Ebbersten, based in Cairo, continues his responsibility as Group Vice President for Africa, Russia & Central Asia.

Constellation Research hires Ashcroft

Research analyst firm Constellation has hired Jeff Ashcroft as a next generation supply chain specialist.

He has worked at The Hudson’s Bay Company, Walmart Canada on behalf of The Tibbet & Britten Group, Crosslink Distribution Inc., and Strategic Logistics Partners. Ashcroft also led the PwC Canadian Logistics/Supply Chain & Retail Advisory Practice in 2005 to 2006 before returning to the role of Principal Facilitator for the Supply Chain Network Project.
