Unilever Supply Chain Company has awarded a contract for co-packing activities in Romania to Kuehne + Nagel.
Kuehne + Nagel has managed warehousing operations for Unilever’s home and personal care product range in South Eastern Europe in a newly commissioned facility in Ploiesti since 2010.
Under the new contract it will now provide value added services for Unilever’s home and personal care products, including manual repacking operations.
Radu Ghiurca, Unilever’s supply chain project manager said: “Kuehne + Nagel has succeeded in a relatively short time to integrate its co-packing service offered to Unilever South Central Europe. Co-packing is strategically important because it enables us to customise our portfolio according to the specific requirements of our customers.”
