Olof Persson appointed new Volvo ceo

Olof Persson will become president and chief executive officer of the Volvo Group when Leif Johansson retires in September.

Persson is currently president of Volvo Construction Equipment, and as of 1st May he will work in parallel with Johansson as executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer.

Persson has experience in managing large global organisations and has been president of two of the Volvo Group’s subsidiaries.

Louis Schweitzer chairman of the volvo board said: “During his time at Volvo Aero and Volvo Construction Equipment, Olof Persson has gained the right experience and demonstrated the characteristics that make him highly suited to take over as President of AB Volvo and CEO of the Volvo Group and replace Leif Johansson who has strategically transformed and grown the Volvo Group while maintaining the core values of the company.”

Handheld hires Floren

Handheld Group of Sweden, supplier of mobile computers, has hired Christer Floren as its chief financial officer.

Floren has experience in the world of finance, accounting, and financial auditing.  He has worked extensively with multinational enterprises. Most recently he was in charge of the financial department at Rettig Sweden AB.

Kenco promotes Albrecht to leader of sustainability

US Logistics firm Kenco has promoted Deni Albrecht to leader of sustainability.

His previous title was senior logistics engineer for Kenco Management Services.

Gary Mayfield, chief executive officer said:  “We selected Deni to be the sustainability champion for the entire Kenco family of companies based on his established leadership in this key aspect of our company. He will continue the development of our comprehensive sustainability program.”

Prior to joining Kenco, Albrecht’s experience included active duty in the US Navy Nuclear Power Program until 1989, and work as a manufacturing methods engineer, machine design engineer and engineering manager.

Albrecht joined Kenco in 2008, and has managed work measurement development and implementation, site optimization modeling, operations audits, process mapping, value stream mapping, entitlement, energy efficiency measurements, process design, best methods development, ROI analysis, regression testing, space planning, equipment specification and warehouse layout.
