DHL to carry Westwood’s boots

DHL has been appointed official logistics partner for Vivienne Westwood’s international shoe exhibition road show.

The partnership includes packaging, transport, customs clearance, insurance and delivery of 133 unique single and pair shoes.

The exhibits, which were created between 1973 and 2010 include Westwood’s 1996 Toile Print Boot, the 1999 Sahara Plimsoll of 1999 and the 1993 Super Elevated Gillie.

Moscow will be the first stop from April 8th to 22nd, followed by Beirut, Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

DHL has also set out plans to support Fashion Fringe for the fourth year running. Fashion Fringe is designed to help up-and-coming fashion talent learn how to run a fashion label and turn it into a successful business.

Three finalists will get the opportunity to take part in DHL’s mentoring programme run by a group of industry experts from the fields of retail, fashion and logistics. Participants will gain an insight into what it takes to turn great designs into a successful business. The three finalists will also get to show their collections at London Fashion Week in September.

The judging panel consists of Claudia Schiffer; designer, Roland Mouret; retail guru, Anne Pitcher; Roy Peach from London College of Fashion and Fashion Editor of Metro, Bel Jacobs.
