American group MIQ Logistics has acquired The Logistics Corporation to boost its retail supply chain offering for the UK and Europe.
Buying TLC also adds multiple warehouse locations and retail-oriented dedicated distribution centres.
This will benefit MIQ’s current retail customers including Phase Eight, Gant, Ben Sherman and Duchamp.
Joey Carnes, chairman and chief executive officer of MIQ says: “A year ago, when we formed our partnership with Austin Ventures, we did so with a commitment to grow and expand the business by offering comprehensive transport, distribution and global services of a consistently high quality throughout the world. Our agreement with TLC allows us to build on our existing strengths in serving retail customers.”
MIQ Logistics is headquartered in Kansas with offices in North America, Asia, Europe and South America. Austin Ventures is a Texan venture capital and growth equity firm With US$3.9 billion under management.
In May MIQ appointed Rob Bongaerts vice president and managing director EMEA. Prior to joining MIQ, Bongaerts worked for UPS, Menlo and CH Robinson.
He said: “I want to expand the footprint of MIQ Logistics across Europe by building on the foundation of our UK organisation, which has an excellent reputation in the industry for high service levels and offering true value to their clients.
