The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s “Young manager of the year” award has garnered a shortlist of exclusively female candidates.
The CILT’s Annual Awards for Excellence will be held at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London on 20 October.
The three finalists for the CILT Young Manager of the Year Award are: Rachel Beeken, general manager, Gist; Lucy Parker, operations manager, DHL Supply Chain – NonFood Retail; and Zoe Pickering, training and recruitment manager, Eddie Stobart Ltd
Chief executive Steve Agg said: “We are increasingly seeing greater involvement from women at all levels – in the warehouse, bus and truck drivers, engineers, logisticians, transport managers, trainers, and, in some notable cases, at the highest level in the boardroom.
“Now, to our delight, we find that the shortlist for the CILT Young Manager of the Year Award is entirely made up of women.
“I very much hope that this will serve as an example and stimulus to women already working in our industry, and to those who aspire to successful future careers with us. There are exciting and rewarding opportunities for females in this sector. In the future we look forward to recruiting and welcoming increasing numbers of ambitious and talented women.”
