Southampton-based Meachers Global Logistics has appointed Stuart Terris managing director replacing Bob Terris who will move into the role of chairman.
Clive Broadley, who has headed the Freight Forwarding division is retiring but will be retained as a consultant advising the board on international activities.
The changes mark the final phase of a three year plan that involved setting out new strategic direction, rebranding into Meachers Global Logistics and a succession plan for the senior management team.
Bob Terris has been with the company for almost 50 years –30 of them as managing director. He said: “The changes recognise the need for forward planning and are part of the longer-term strategy which acknowledges that continuity and succession are key to the development of the Company.
Stuart Terris, aged 41, has been with the business for 20 years becoming group operations Director in 2008 and deputy managing director last year. He said: “We have evolved continually to meet the changing needs of the market place and that will continue be one of our objectives.”
