Hyster parent Nacco has opened a new development centre in Hampshire to work on the development of the intelligent designs for Hyster products.
The new concept centre includes a workshop and test facilities. Mark Stent, engineering operations leader, said: “We will be developing new Hyster concepts that help reduce cost of ownership and increase productivity, reliability and energy efficiency.”
The team of design engineers will develop 3D models, build prototype forklifts and components, test and validate equipment prior to introduction into the manufacturing process. The first projects undertaken at the centre include developments that will enhance the range of Hyster warehouse equipment.
Recent developments from Hyster include the introduction of Tier 4i / Stage IIIB compliant “Big Trucks”, tyre saving axle technology and energy efficient diesel and electric forklift trucks.
