UPS has added ten dual-fuel bio-methane-diesel vehicles to its dedicated London 2012 fleet. The vehicles, currently stationed at UPS’s hub in Tamworth, are part of UPS’s 2,500-strong global alternative fuel fleet.
The London biomethane vehicles are the first of their kind in UPS’s global fleet. UPS’s is also using five electric vehicles.
Managing director Cindy Miller said: “By using bio-methane vehicles to deliver London 2012, we are putting our exploration of alternative fuel technology to the test at the world’s most significant peacetime logistical event. Using these vehicles to deliver London 2012 items will help us find the best, most responsible solutions to suit our business as it lives and breathes on the ground.”
