Delivery boost for Krispy Kreme

Doughnut-maker Krispy Kreme reckons it has improved delivery times to its stores and retail outlets across the UK by 20 per cent as a result of moving to TomTom fleet management.

“We are now able to deliver a world class service consistently where product is on-time every day, an improvement in delivery targets of 20 per cent,” said logistics manager Ben Povey.

The system allows managers to see the locations of its 33 delivery vehicles in real time and generate bespoke reports to improve communications and workflow. With real time traffic updates, drivers can also avoid congestion, while LINK tracking units relay accurate times of arrival to office managers.

It is also looking at tackling fuel reduction by monitoring idle time using the TomTom ecoPLUS.
