Gefco has appointed Luc Nadal, currently freight transport and logistics director, as its new chief executive officer, replacing Yves Fargues who has decided to retire.
Nadal has worked in consultant and managerial roles for firms such as Fret SNCF, Naviland Cargo, MENSIA Conseil, and Arthur Andersen.
Fargues will become non-executive chairman of the company when he steps down as CEO.
In February, Gefco’s parent company PSA Peugeot Citroen announced plans to sell a stake in business, as part of an asset disposal programme to raise 1.5 billion euros.
There have been press reports that half a dozen private equity firms are interested in bidding for the company.
