Unite calls strike at Ford DC

Members of the Unite union at Ford’s parts distribution centre at Daventry are to be called out on strike on 18th June in a dispute over pensions and pay.

The union says the company wants to close the final salary pension scheme to new starters and lower their rates of pay.

The parts distribution centre employs a total of nearly 500 staff and ships some 8.7 million lines to dealers each year.

The dispute involves a total of 2,500 Unite members at manufacturing sites around the country as well as the parts distribution centre.

Ford employs a total of 15,000 people in the UK.
