Discount retailer Poundland plans to open its 200,000 sq ft distribution centre at Hoddesdon in August.
The warehouse will be used as a regional facility to serve stores throughout southern England.
The company said it was on track to open at least 60 new stores this year as well as the distribution centre It now has 400 stores.
In the year to 1st April, Poundland said underlying EBITDA rose 26.5 per cent to £40.1m, on sale up 21.6 per cent to £780m.
