IT Update

Blyth, which designs and markets home decorative and fragranced products, has chosen SAS and Procuri to provide a new spend management system that will deliver critical visibility into trends within the company’s Global Sourcing Group. The system will be created using SAS Supplier Relationship Management 3.0, built on the SAS 9 Intelligence Platform, and Procuri’s TotalSource Suite. The SAS Supplier Relationship Management 3.0 will deliver insight into Blyth’s supply chain and procurement spending while Procuri’s strategic sourcing solution offers the ability to conduct RFx’s (such as Request for Information, Request for Quotes) as well as reverse auctions.

BaByliss has successfully gone live with Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution at its 30,000sq m European distribution centre at Iwuy in northern France. The solution has provided BaByliss with greater control over its outbound distribution operation in Europe, and will deliver further value as its transport service partners become integrated with the new solution to deliver real-time visibility into goods throughout BaByliss’ distribution centre-to-store fulfilment operation. Following a joint in-depth functional design by BaByliss and Manhattan, the solution was implemented over four months.

The Outdoor Group, part of Blacks Leisure Group, has gone “live” with SSA Global’s Warehouse Management System (WMS). The solution has an advanced RF-directed system and has already shown a near 100% pick accuracy rate within the first two weeks of implementation. The Outdoor Group processes about 2,660 customer orders per week from 380 outlets nationwide. As part of its warehouse conversion, The Outdoor Group installed SSA Warehouse Management 4000, deployed on an IBM p650 server, running the AIX operating system and using an Oracle database.
