ACR Logistics is making significant headway in the technology sector having won a series of contracts to handle different parts of the supply chain and value added services for T-Mobile, Siemens, Orange and Virgin Mobile.
The new contracts range from ACR providing a national distribution centre, distributing spare parts and handling returns to supplying promotions and point of sale materials and equipment, data capture and dealing with bespoke packaging.
The three-year, £5M deal with Virgin Mobile sees ACR provide a 2,790sq m national distribution centre in Daventry. As part of the contract, ACR is providing a next-day delivery service on Virgin handsets, bespoke packaging (PUK codes) and is undertaking a data capture service.
ACR’s four-year contract, worth £5M, with Siemens is for the distribution of spare parts to field-based engineers. Siemens renewed its existing three-year contract in July having received exceptional service levels from the logistics provider. The new deal builds on an eight-year relationship between the two companies. ACR is now supplying electronic point of sale equipment such as handheld devices and digital printers to high end retailers as well as add-on services such as quick fix and screening and warranty returns.
The two-year contract, valued at £250,000, with T-Mobile entails ACR handling its point-of-sale solution. ACR is currently half way through a five-year contract to provide warehouse services, order administration and distribution for T-Mobile, and is now distributing promotional equipment to retailers stocking T-Mobile mobile phones.
This latest move has brought all of T-Mobile’s logistics activities into one location, making it easier to streamline operations and create a flexible workforce as well as increasing stock visibility.
ACR is also undertaking point-of-sale activities for Orange as part of a two-year, £1.28M contract. The two companies have worked together for ten years, and the relationship has been extended to supply high street retailers with merchandising equipment for in-store and window displays. This work is carried out from the same location as the handsets are despatched.
