TGW acquires Ecolog

The TGW Logistics Group has acquired Ecolog, the supplier of automated logistics systems based at Wels in Austria. TGW now plans to reposition itself as a systems supplier for integrated logistics solutions.

Ecolog has been a systems supplier in the field of automated logistics solutions for more than nine years, delivering turnkey solutions to the customer.

Georg Kirchmayr, TGW’s president, said: “By integrating Ecolog, the group of companies now has a highly experienced controls and software division with material handling competencies, which we need for our future growth and success.”

In future all the operational companies will operate under the newly founded holding “TGW Logistics Group”. Kirchmayr will be president of this new holding company and withdraws from his operational functions.

Manfred Lindner will continue to be chief executive of Ecolog Logistiksysteme and, together with Rudolf Hansl, will be responsible for sales within the group.

“Within a few years we will have developed our two main strengths: First we will be the supplier of innovative, flexible, high performance materials handling and storage equipment. Second we will be known as an excellent partner for integrated, high quality solutions for logistics systems,” said Kirchmayr.
