MAN Truck & Bus UK has begun work on a six-acre specialist dealership in Manchester as part of its £30 million investment programme.

The £9 million Trafford Park service centre, which will be open 24 hours a day seven days a week, will have 22 bays and employ more than 100 staff.

MAN is also currently working in key service dealer areas in Glasgow, Sheffield, Preston and Bristol as part of the programme.

David Cussans, operations director at MAN Truck & Bus UK, said: “We have been working very hard on developing both the spread and customer care competence of the MAN Network for three years now, both within our wholly owned branches and through the very committed principals of our private capital dealerships.

“Internal investments into our unique Up Time Principle (UTP) programme have been equally significant and have shown outstanding results in the key service elements on which our operators expect to be able to rely.”

The centre will handle truck, bus and coach support for MAN operators, as well as technician training facilities to supplement the training school at MAN’s Swindon centre.

The Trafford Park site is due for completion in April 2009.
