Rents for industrial properties in east London continued to rise in 2008, according to recent research by developer O Twelve Estates and property consultancy Colliers CRE. The third East London Monitor reported rent increases of up to 29 per cent in the past three years due to the lack of quality available space in the region. The Thames Gateway and the adjacent areas are benefiting from major infrastructure and other improvements being made in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games. However, the London Development Agency has had a policy of restricting B8 development in particular.
