I've only just read your article about the effect that the Empty Property Rates Bill is having on landlords and businesses within the logistics industry.
Variation Ltd are providing a proposal called "Turnstile" which provides a commercial stock programme for any empty warehouse or industrial property, from about 20,000 sq ft and can be extended to empty offices as well.
The principle is that Variation will provide a turnkey programme employing our logistics experience whilst allowing the property owner or leaseholder to benefit from reduced EPR commitments without diverting attention from their core business.
The solution is quite simple and legal, which minimises EPR liabilities within the current rating laws and good practise; it will save between 60% and 70% of costs.
It would certainly make warehouse and office lettings easier if tenants and property owners know that there is a solution to their rate relief problem!
To date Variation have successfully achieved rates relief in over fifty cases (100% success rate: £3.0 million saved)
