Industry Channel: Transport & Distribution
Colgate Palmolive is now using CHEP blue pallets, rather than white exchange pallets, for distributing products in Denmark.
Colgate Palmolive products are manufactured across Europe and transported to a single distribution centre in Jyderup, Denmark. From there they are distributed to retailers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
The company already uses CHEP for distribution in Sweden, Norway and Finland, but apparently the main Danish retailers were reluctant to accept CHEP equipment.
Danish retailers, including Coop and Dansk Supermarked, are now willing to accept CHEP pallets, creating additional flows equating to 40,000 1,200mm x 800mm pallet movements per annum.
Andres Rasmussen, Nordic commercial logistic manager at Colgate Palmolive, said: “It is much more efficient for Colgate Palmolive to use a standard platform for the distribution of our products across the whole of Scandinavia. The recent decision by the major retailers in Denmark to accept CHEP pallets will help streamline our processes.”
