Rhys Davies streamlines fleet management

Rhys Davies Freight Logistics has chosen a bespoke fleet management system from MiX Telematics to help it maintain service levels.

The logistics company has fitted 100 of its vehicles with the FM Communicator fleet management computer, and the web-based reporting software has been integrated into the company's existing office-based consignment management system.

Rhys Davies managing director Mark Richmond, said: "Ours is a complex distribution service which demands careful and closely controlled management in order to maximise and sustain our levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

“We now have the fleet management system we were looking for, one which enables us to track our vehicles effectively and monitor our delivery schedules in a manner which best suits our way of working.

“In turn, this has helped us improve our communications with customers, which has improved service-visibility and helped us win new business.

“A further benefit is that we are also able to use the system to monitor driver performance.”
