CitySprint has bought Telford-based Jaguar Couriers for an undisclosed sum. It has taken over Jaguar’s 10,000 sq ft site at Telford, which has become CitySprint’s first service centre in the area and will provide additional support for customers in West Shropshire, Wolverhampton, Cannock and Stafford.

CitySprint plans to retain all of Jaguar’s operational staff and couriers, while its founder Dave Cheeseman will continue with account management and new business development.

Ben Haynes, CitySprint’s managing director regions, said: “The Midlands represents a key area for us at CitySprint and this latest acquisition marks our continued commitment to the region. Expanding our national network through quality acquisitions supports the needs of both our local and national customers… We have further acquisitions planned for 2009 to further establish ourselves as the market leader for SameDay courier services in the UK.”
