Norfolk County Council has awarded CitySprint a three year contract making it one of the preferred suppliers of courier services to the council for seven years in total.

CitySprint, which has three service centres in East Anglia and offers SameDay Courier, NextDay Courier, International Courier, Specialist and Medical Express Services.

It was initially awarded a three-year contract with Norfolk County Council in 2005 and at the end of that period the contract was extended for a further year.

Graham Abbott, contracts and purchasing officer at Norfolk County Council, said: “CitySprint can help us achieve our environmental objectives by providing us with carbon reports which enable us to monitor the vehicles we are using for our courier deliveries, mileages and resulting carbon dioxide emissions. CitySprint is then able to identify where we can reduce emissions and improve our carbon footprint through changing vehicles and consolidating journeys.”
