Heineken UK has replaced its Electronic Data Interchange infrastructure with Kewill’s large enterprise integration as a software offering, MessageBroker, and business-to-business managed file transfer service, Xchange.

The package allows Heineken to exchange around 11,000 business documents including orders, invoices and advance shipping notes, electronically with more than 70 suppliers each week.

It also lets the company integrate relevant data automatically into its existing ERP and finance systems.

As part of the multi-year contract Kewill will also fully manage and support Heineken UK’s EDI requirements with its trading partner community.

Douglas Smith at Heineken UK said: “We are confident that we now have in place a flexible, cost effective and scalable EDI platform which better meets the needs of our own users and those of our trading network.

“Integration with our enterprise and accounting systems has demonstrated an immediate improvement in efficiency and we expect to see a fast return on our investment in this area over the coming months.”
