DP World’s London Gateway development has completed the quay wall for the first berth. When fully operational, the terminal will be able to accommodate up to six of the world’s largest container ships.
Visiting the site, DP World chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem said: “I’m delighted with the progress and the quality of the work I have seen. London Gateway is on-track to open in the fourth quarter of 2013.”
Simon Moore chief executive officer, London Gateway said: “Deep-sea importers and exporters will soon be able to move closer to their UK markets, reducing costs, time and CO2 from global supply chains.”
