Up to 100 new jobs are to be created by Ocado the online delivery arm of supermarket chain Waitrose, which has taken a 1,393.5 sq m (15,000 sq ft) warehouse at Marchwood Industrial Park following the launch of its service in the region at the end of September 2005.

The 48.56ha (120 acre) Marchwood Industrial Park, owned by Oceanic Estates, is located to the west of Southampton city centre, across Southampton water. The new Ocado warehouse, which was built as a pre-let three years ago by Oceanic, will act as a satellite depot for its largely automated delivery fulfilment centre in Hatfield, Herts.

King Sturge advised Oceanic.
