TDG has formed a joint venture with packaging manufacturer Mauser to provide a nationwide collection, cleaning and reconditioning service for composite IBCs. It will also offer refurbished IBCs for sale.

The new organisation, NCG UK, based in Batley near Leeds in the North of England, will be able to collect used IBCs from locations across the UK. Once on TDG’s site at Batley the containers will be cleaned, reconditioned and tested. If the IBC is deemed unfit for reuse then it will be scrapped and the materials recycled.

Colin Rutherford, UK Operations Director for TDG, says, “There’s a persuasive economic argument to use reconditioned containers as it’s more cost effective than buying new and there’s an equally compelling pressure to reduce the impact of industry on the environment. Re-using and recycling containers supports this aim.”

NCG UK will build on the experience of the Mauser-owned National Container Group which has operated in North America since 1988 and has already several other activities in European locations. More information on NCG can be found at www.ncg-europe.com.
