British Home Stores has extended its relationship with DHL after signing a three-year contract worth £3.6 million with DHL Exel Supply Chain to provide logistics e-fulfilment warehousing services.

The move comes as the retailer plans to grow its online ordering business, reduce operating costs and improve service levels.

Under the agreement DHL will process more than 150,000 customer orders and returns across clothing, gifts, home and lighting each year, as well as providing value added services and customer helpdesk assistance.

The two companies have worked together for almost 20 years with Bhs using DHL Global Forwarding for outbound freight logistics services and DHL Express for 24 and 48 hour parcel delivery services.
