Samsung has chosen Ceva Logistics to manage the supply chain for its air conditioners in Italy in a three-year deal worth £5.9 million (€6.5 million).

Ceva will run the operation, including handling customs clearance in the port of Genoa, storage in the Ceva warehouse in Pognano, near Bergamo and final distribution to end users in Italy.

Given the seasonal nature of the activity, Ceva’ will handle some 230,000 packages every year, with 50 per cent of the total volume being handled in four months of the year.

Daniele Farinella, logistics director at Samsung, said: “We have chosen Ceva as our logistics partner as it has planned a personalised and highly flexible service for Samsung, able to adapt to the demand fluctuations that characterize our business.”
