Pall-Ex plans to continue running its new overnight service in London beyond the summer, following its successful first week in operation.
The service was launched as a remedy for the disruption expected from the Olympics.
During the first week of operation, four per cent of the network’s pallet volumes in London migrated to the overnight option, being delivered between 6pm and 6am.
Adrian Russell, managing director of Pall-Ex, said: “When we launched the service, we offered a guarantee for every single pallet in the postcode areas likely to be affected. This is a promise that we are more than delivering on and will continue to do so.
“There has been a lot of talk about legacy in the last few months and Transport for London has been particularly vocal about this. We aim to make this a permanent addition to our London offering, tailoring it slightly to run from 6pm until midnight every evening.”
