International operator Brian Yeardley Continental is trialling its first ever Schmitz Cargobull trailer – a Mega Euroliner.

The tri-axle trailer has been built primarily to transport chemicals to mainland Europe, returning to the UK with white goods and automotive components.

Managing director Kevin Hopper said: “It’s always better to have a choice of suppliers, and on first impressions this new Schmitz Cargobull trailer is proving to be very impressive.”

Hopper aims to replace tractor units at approximately three years of age, and trailers at five years.

“Technology is changing fast in the road transport industry and maintaining an up-to-date fleet sets you apart from the competition and is part of our promise to customers. We don’t want to be running older kit where the reliability stakes and potential for downtime start to increase,” he said.
