Transaid is celebrating its 15th birthday by challenging members of the transport industry to get on their bikes and take part in one of two charity cycle rides.

From 13th September, volunteers will take on the first cycle- a three-day ride from London to Amsterdam said to be approximately 335km long.

A second challenge will take place in November where riders will be able to visit Transaid’s project in Uganda during a five-day 430km long cycle, which will see them stop off at a rhino sanctuary and end the ride at Murchison Falls National Park.

Gary Foster, chief executive of Transaid, said: “Transaid has worked incredibly hard over the past 15 years to improve people’s quality of life in developing countries and these exciting cycling events are part of our anniversary celebrations. “

A sign-up fee of £105 is required and a minimum donation of £1,600 must be raised in sponsorship for the European ride and a £299 registration fee and £3,300 sponsorship must be made for the African challenge.

Anyone wishing to take part in either race can request a registration form by emailing or calling 020 7387 8136.
