Fortec Distribution Network has expanded its infrastructure with the opening of a regional hub in Warrington to serve the north of England.
15 Fortec members based in Ireland and the north of England will initially use the Cheshire-hub.
Fortec said that the facility will not only decrease fuel costs by reducing members’ stem mileage to and from their depots, it will also enable the company to provide an improved and more efficient service to end user customers.
Fortec’s 140,000 sq ft hub in Northamptonshire will remain its main site.
Adrian Bradley, general manager operations, said: “From the start, the hub will be dealing with approximately ten per cent of our overall volume each night under the leadership of manager Kevin Huskie – a figure which is set to grow.”
