Take the top award for hi-tech supply chains

It was a tought battle last year as Sky Deutschland and Telefónica UK fought it out to win The HiTech, Communications & Electronics category of the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards.

Customer experience is central to Telefónica UK’s continuous programme of transformation, and its submission focused on the O2 Recycle service, a trading tool that underpins O2 Refresh and the company’s 4G proposition on pricing.

Sky Deutschland has, over the past five years, devoted considerable effort to transforming its supply chain to enhance the experience for customers regarding returns. Sky’s rental model for Consumer Premises Equipment expects to have hardware returned two to three times during its life cycle. But with the dramatic growth of the business, so too have returns. The company has used technology for automated fault diagnosis and streamlined its repairs operation, which together with a range of initiatives, resulted in a substantially more cost-efficient operation and demonstrably higher levels of customer satisfaction.

Two outstanding entries – but in the end the judges were unanimous – the Award for Hi Tech, Communications & Electronics had to go to Sky Deutschland.

And now it’s could be your turn to take the crown. The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2015 are now open for entries.

The Awards are the gold standard of supply chain achievement and overall winners include some of Europe’s leading companies such as Vodafone, BASF, Danone Baby Nutrition and GlaxoSmithKline.

The winners of the 2015 Awards will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Monday, 16th November.

The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards are organised by Supply Chain Standard in association with PwC.

There were a record number of entries last year – and 72 companies made it to the final stage of the awards judging.

What makes the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards special is the stringent process to analyse supply chain performance. Our judging team is made up of senior industry figures who bring years of experience to bear. Shortlisted companies are asked to make presentations to our judges and face detail questioning from panel members.

It’s a uniquely exhaustive process that makes the Awards uniquely worth winning.
