Cleanliness leads to efficient working

With 150 vehicles in and out every day, loading and unloading, Palletline’s Birmingham hub and headquarters creates a large amount of waste and litter – just the job for a Schmidt Swingo 225 compact sweeper.

The nine-acre site handles pallets from all areas of the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, with shipments being received from up to 60 Palletline depots, and then re-shipped for onward delivery. The Schmidt Swingo will operate everyday throughout the site, outside and in covered warehouses.

“We generate a lot of waste cardboard and create an enormous amount of dust by the very nature of the business. That is reduced as much as possible, but the Swingo’s task will be keep all surface areas, inside and out, clean for efficient working,” says site services manager John Bonner.

The Swingo is being supplied with a scheduled servicing contract as well as warranty.

Palletline has seen continuous growth to its present network of 60 depots. The hub and spoke delivery service has its headquarters at Tyburn Road, Birmingham, where the Swingo will be based.
