BAX Global, a supply chain and transport solutions provider, has received UK Customs and Excise approval for excise storage at its Glasgow facility. The development is in conjunction with a three-year contract with Isle of Arran Distillers. BAX’s Glasgow facility is the first in its global network to gain excise approval.
The Glasgow site has a 2,980sq m facility to provide bonded storage for Isle of Arran’s Scotch Whisky.
The Lochranza-based distillery will have a dedicated team of BAX employees to service and maintain the account.
Through BAX, Isle of Arran is receiving enhanced inventory visibility and control, improved service standards and cycle times, documentation and customs management, and increased security. The Glasgow office is Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) approved, guaranteeing secure storage and movement of high value goods. Additional services include re-work, applying special import stickers, re-packing regular stock into gift cartons and re-labelling bottles.
