Supply chain specialist DHL Solutionhas assumed responsibility for the Spare Parts Management activities of Philips Consumer Electronics Europe as part of a six-year deal.

Commenting on the new contract, Wim van Gils, general manager of Philips Consumer Electronics Euroservice, says: “This is a logical step for Philips. Philips is continuously working at improving its service towards its consumers as well as dealer and repair network. On the other hand we constantly are reviewing our business critical processes.

The aim is to transfer the Philips operation in Eindhoven/Strijp to DHL’s site in Acht, near Eindhoven. The activities that have been taken over clearly go beyond the traditional scope of logistics outsourcing.

DHL Solutions will be responsible for the entire stock management process, including setting inventory levels, customer order administration and financial management.
