Fortec invests in bigger hub

This year Fortec invested £5 million in a 140,000 sq ft central hub, IT systems and equipment, which will accommodate its expansion plans for the next five years. This investment – the largest the network has made in its 10 year history – was approved by French parent company Geodis, following Fortec’s record financial turnover and profits for the fifth year running in 2006.

The hub is three times the size of the current hub in Rugby, and is located on a 9.5 acre site. Staff will move to the new hub, based eight miles south of the current one, in April next year.

Managing director, Rod Abrahams, says: “The facility enables Fortec to continue to focus on the quality end of the pallet distribution market – providing our licensees with the right infrastructure to send their customers goods through a safe and secure environment with the full benefits of extensive IT support.”
