Amazon takes temporary space

Internet giant Amazon has secured 170,000 sq ft of temporary space at Kenmore’s recently refurbished South Wales Distribution Centre, Kenfig Industrial Estate, near Port Talbot while its new bespoke unit at Fabian Way, Swansea is being constructed.

Richard Gatehouse of Gerald Eve, said: “South Wales Distribution Centre provides an excellent distribution offer, that is well situated to serve the whole of South Wales to the south east and south west of England.”

Owen Pritchard, of Knight Frank the joint letting agent said: “The South Wales Distribution Centre offers good quality premises for manufacturing, storage or distribution purposes. There are few facilities in South Wales along the M4 corridor offering such good quality space for circa £2 per sq ft.”

The news of Amazon’s commitment follows the recent expansion of Berkeley Logistics into a further 50,000 sq ft at the centre.
