DHL to trial hybrid vehicles

DHL is trialling  two Mitsubishi Fuso Canter hybrid vehicles in its express and logistics operations in the UK. Daimler AG and DHL anticipate that the two 7.5 tonners, which run on hybrid diesel-electric engines, will use up to 20 per cent less fuel than conventional gasoline or diesel vehicles and will also lead to a reduction in each vehicle’s carbon dioxide emissions.

John Finn, fleet director  at DHL, said: “This initiative reinforces DHL’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its business operations. By using new technology and innovation we are demonstrating the important steps we are taking in the fight against climate change.”
