Distribution centre expansion hangs in the balance

UK discount-focused variety store retailer Home Bargains has submitted plans to expand its distribution centre in Liverpool and create 700 new jobs.

If the plans are not approved the company could be forced to open a centre outside the region to keep pace with expansion plans.

Rather than seek sites for a new distribution centre, Home Bargains has chosen to extend its existing 350,000 sq ft facility at Axis Business Park, where it has land adjacent for up to one million square feet of warehouse space.
