Mobis picks Tamworth for parts warehouse

Mobis Parts Europe UK has secured a pre sale on a 220,000 sq ft distribution warehouse in Tamworth, West Midlands, which will be built by Gazeley.

The £18m project is due for completion in the second quarter of 2008. This is the latest deal at the Tamworth site, following the land sale to parcel operator UPS, and the pre let to Bristan Taps.

Gazeley’s approved plans for the bespoke facility include a number of eco-effective measures such as rain water harvesting and recycling, energy-efficient lighting, solar panels, low water use appliances and FSC approved timber, all provided as standard fit out by Gazeley and all at at no extra cost for the customer. These environmentally friendly features will not only reduce the environmental footprint of the buildings, but also deliver significant annual operating cost savings of over £11,000 to Mobis Parts Europe.

Gazeley’s Nigel Dolan said: “The fact that we were able to acquire the land, and get on site building a bespoke and sustainable facility for this important customer, all within 12 months, is impressive.”

Atisreal acted for Gazeley and Savills advised Mobis.
