New cranes for Manchester railfreight terminal

Freightliner  is investing £4 million in two new cranes for its Manchester terminal. The move follows the announcement last year that it was to replace its rail head gantry cranes at Birmingham, Liebherr Container Cranes will soon begin production of the two rail head gantry cranes for installation at Freightliner’s terminal in Trafford Park in Spring 2009.
Peter Maybury, managing director of Freightliner, said: “Our terminal network and associated equipment clearly differentiates the Freightliner product from other rail borne offerings in the market and is key to our position as market leader. It is therefore crucial that we continue to invest in our terminals, to ensure that our customers receive the highest standards possible, and these new cranes are evidence of this.”
