Glencoe chooses Teesport as distribution hub

Glencoe Agriculture UK, which specialises in crushing soya bean and oilseed rape, is to use PD Ports’ Teesport as its northern distribution hub. The agriculture business already has a port site in the South – now it will also import agro-bulks into the North through the new Northern site.

Concha y Toro chooses Jigsaw for distribution

UK subsidiary of winery Viña Concha y Toro has chosen Jigsaw for secondary distribution of its products across the UK. The transport company will manage distribution from the wine producer’s bottling facilities in both Manchester and County Durham.

Budget supermarket retailer Lidl is to open a £70 million, 628,000 sq ft distribution centre at the iPort development in Doncaster. The South Yorkshire based site will be the retailer’s 13th UK warehouse, and is part of a six million sq ft Verdion logistics scheme.

Supermarket chain Aldi has taken delivery of 25 Vector 1950 multi-temperature units from Carrier Transicold as part of a transition to multi-temperature refrigeration systems, which provide the flexibility to transport a mix of ambient, chilled and frozen goods in one consignment.
