TDG plans to extend further into Central and Eastern Europe, and is initially setting up offices in Budapest, Hungary.
The move comes as the company aims to provide logistics services to existing customers in Western Europe which operate in the region, as well as new customers located in Central and Eastern Europe.
Kevin Richardson, strategic development director at TDG, said: “This is an attractive market for TDG that reinforces and extends our business strategy. Our initial plans were to establish sales capability to supplement our international services activities and current agency relationships focussing on road and ocean transport.
“However our plans have evolved and through partnerships we will now have the ability to offer the full range of TDG s international and domestic warehousing and transport services. We will be offering services in Hungary from August 2009 before considering moves to establish TDG in other CEE countries.”
