Brantwood Auto Recycling is using custom-built racking from Pro-Dek Storage Systems for storing salvaged and abandoned vehicles at a four-acre site north London.
The company has contracts with local authorities, insurance companies and housing associations for storing and disposing of vehicles. The number processed at the site has grown considerably, particularly since the government’s scrappage scheme started, and now numbers around 2,000 a week.
The racking from Pro-Dek, which can accommodate around 200 cars, allows three to be stored on the same footprint as a single vehicle. It is generally used for cars that are being broken for spares or are in safe custody after being clamped.
