British Gas has presented Knapp with an award for “bringing out the best in each other”.
It was awarded for the joint commitment shown by the Knapp and British Gas teams at the company’s national distribution centre in Leicester.
Knapp installed an automated handling system at the 12,800 sq m facility in 2006. The hub cost a total of £17 million and is used for the distribution of gas and electrical appliance spare parts and ancillary equipment to engineers nationwide.
On receiving the award, David James, managing director of Knapp UK, said: “This was a complex project to service a dynamic business operation. The fact that the NDC is performing so well is a testimony to the hard work of all those involved and the excellent working relationship which exists between our companies.”
