Skills for Logistics is launching a consultation on National Occupational Standards for the knowledge and skills needed to work in logistics. These standards underpin a range of qualifications and training frameworks.
Consultation events are being organised throughout the UK between September and the end of 2009. Each of these events will review one of the following occupational standards Warehousing and Storage, Logistics Operations Management, Supply Chain Management and Traffic Office.
The aim is to ensure that the current standards remain up-to-date for the workplace. This includes considering advances in technology and modern working practices that may have an effect on the required competencies. The standards will then be used as the bases for development of qualifications for 2010.
