Nightfreight is adding as Saturday service to its two-man home delivery operation to meet demand for wider and more convenient delivery options. The service will be available via its Deliver2home operation and will be launched in time for the peak Christmas period.
The service will operate from 23 sites within Nightfreight’s depot network and customers using the company’s online system will shortly be able to access the extended six-day service.
As part of the service development, Nightfreight is also implementing a routeing software to enable the introduction of a three-hour delivery time window from February 2010.
Nightfreight has also taken delivery of six Bevan21 aerodynamic trailer bodies which trials have shown can make fuel savings of up to 15 per cent.
