TM Logistics has been awarded an additional £1 million contract by insulation firm Saint-Gobain Isover.
The company also recently signed a five-year extension to its existing contract with national supply chain specialist.
The new contract will see TM Logistics transport up to 24 loads of insulation rolls and batts per day from Saint-Gobain Isover’s warehouse in Gothanm Nottinghamshire to customers across the couth of England and East Anglia.
It will also be providing warehousing support including managing inbound and outbound stock, loading vehicles and tracking product as it moves through the supply chain.
Grahame Taylor, managing director of TM Logistics, said: “The Gotham contract adds a new dimension to our relationship as, for the first time, we’ll be providing Saint-Gobain Isover not only support with a transport solution, but also comprehensive warehousing support.
“Using the learning we’ve gained from our existing work for the company at its Runcorn site, we’ve quickly established a fast, efficient service at Gotham and we’re well on track to meeting, if not exceeding our service level agreement.”
The TM Logistics team, which comprises five drivers and three operational staff, has a 100 per cent service level for distribution and a score of 99.6 per cent for warehousing operations.
Dave Lydon, Saint-Gobain Isover’s supply chain manager, added: “We are looking forward to strengthening our professional relationship further with the introduction of TM Logistics into our Gotham distribution centre.
“The operation of a third party warehouse is a new step for Isover in the UK and we are supremely confident that TM Logistics will meet our expectations and add value in their area of expertise.
“I also believe that the introduction of four new ‘draw-bar’ units, which enables 24 pallet shipments between Runcorn and Gotham, rather than the original 20 pallet loads, shows both businesses’ commitment and sensitivity to their environmental responsibilities through investment and partnership.”
